Will Workout For Puppies!
Welcome to Hit House's "Kickboxing for a Cause: Puppies & Fitness" event, made possible by the generous team at Social Tees Animal Rescue. This donation-based class, held on Tuesday, October 14th, marked the 10th (!!!) time working with Social Tees Animal Rescue. This special event's goal was to raise money for the animal rescue's veterinary fund, and raise awareness (as always) for the volunteer and foster program. This time, our supportive kickboxing community got to meet three puppies!
Who is Social Tees Animal Rescue? Social Tees Animal Rescue is a non-profit (501c3) no-kill rescue in NYC finding forever homes for abandoned dogs and cats. All animals that Social Tees rescue are in foster homes. STAR believes that when done responsibly, a foster based system is the healthiest option: The animals receive one-on-one care and training, and prospective adopters get a much clearer picture of what kind of lifestyle that animal is likely to require long term. Animal behavior and needs can change dramatically between a kennel and a home setting.
STAR provides all animals they rescue with veterinary care. They ensure that each animal is neutered; up to date on core vaccines at the time of adoption; microchipped; treated with de-fleaing, de-worming, and de-miting medication as necessary and more. This event raised $500 to help supply animals with vet care - thank you all!

What's the event like? Guests purchased a ticket that included Hit House's signature all-levels kickboxing class, pushed themselves in Hit House co-owner Tyler Scott's 45 minute Muay Thai inspired class, and then were greeted by adoptable dogs post-workout! Guests spent time with dogs that are currently being fostered by STAR, as well as chat with the foster parents and volunteers and learn more about how STAR works! We were also treated to post-workout drinks from Summer Water rose and Good Twin, a sparkling non alcoholic wine.

This is goofy, loveable Tucker, an almost 6-month old Pointer and Collie mix. Here's his Pet Finder listing!
Meet Atlas, a small 9-month only Chihuahua mix ready and waiting to be your lap dog. Here's a link to his Adopt A Pet listing!
Social Tees Animal Rescue relies almost entirely on donations from the public, 100 percent of which are used directly to save animals’ lives. Click here to make a donation!

Thank you to Summer Water for treating us to the last little bit of summer with the perfect rose (after we all sweat everything out in class). Alex, CEO of Good Twin, also treated us to Good Twin, a sparkling non-alcoholic wine that you can pick up down the street at Happier Grocery!
A huge thank you to Puppies Make Me Happy for early access to their newest Puppies & Fitness Merch items: Good Boys Get Treats and Hot Girls Rescue Dogs. Puppies Make Me Happy is a Los Angeles based brand that supports local rescues - meaning your purchase helps animals in need!
