On Sunday, November 2nd, the Girls Girls Club of NYC hosted an empowering afternoon at Hit House. The idea behind this kickboxing and strength class was born from the belief that every woman deserves to feel safe in her body - supported, celebrated and unstoppable! This event was more than a workout - it was an empowering kickboxing experience designed to help Girls' Girls release, recharge and reconnect with their inner power, while surrounded by a supportive community.

This class, co-taught by instructors Noelle and Chrissy (featured at left), introduced GGC members to the basics of Muay Thai, which include strikes that are helpful to know for self-defense, such as the elbow, knee and teep (front push kick). We don't want any GGC to have to use these strikes, but it fuels confidence to know that you properly could if you had to! This workout focused on inner power - letting everything out on the striking bag (releasing frustration, anger, anxiety) shows your true inner strength.

Girls Girls Club NYC was created by Izzi Friedman, after a personal experience made her realize that some organizations and clubs exclude, rather than include. Watch the story behind this here. "A community built for the girls who don't compete and don't compare. A revival that rises above rivalry." GGC is all about inclusion and is more than a club. GGC creates meaningful connection between like-minded women, who support each other during the dozens of fun, creative experiences that the club curates. Izzi also owns a social media management and content creation agency.

Safely demonstrated how to properly use pepper spray (with a completely safe, water spray) and all of the GGC got to meet the co-founders of Safely and Night Cap (as seen on shark tank!).
